- Netflix released “The Indrani Mukerjea Story: The Buried Truth” despite CBI objections.

A new series about Indrani Mukerjea, who’s in court for supposedly killing her daughter Sheena Bora, just hit Netflix. It’s called ‘The Indrani Mukerjea Story: The Buried Truth’. But it almost didn’t happen.
See, the CBI, which is the top detective agency in India, tried to stop it, thinking it could mess with the trial. They said the show might make people think a certain way, which could be bad for the trial. But the Bombay High Court said NO to that idea. They decided the show could go on.
Back in 2012, Sheena Bora went missing. Then, it came out that she’d been killed, allegedly by her own mom, Indrani, along with the driver and Indrani’s ex-husband. They apparently strangled her in a car and then burned her body in a forest. It’s pretty heavy stuff.
But the twist is that nobody knew about it until 2015 when the driver spilled the beans after getting arrested for something else. That’s when everything came crashing down for Indrani Mukerjea. She got arrested too, but then later on, she got bail in 2022. Same for the others involved they’re out on bail too.
The CBI was worried that this new series might mess with people’s minds, maybe even the judge’s. But the court didn’t buy it. They watched the series themselves and thought it was okay. So, they said the show could go ahead.
Now, it’s out there for everyone to watch on Netflix. It’s a real-life drama that’s been going on for years, and now, it’s on our screens.
