Despite South Africa having a good lead in the first innings and looking to seal a victory, Williamson’s century shifted the momentum back towards New Zealand.

Williamson’s hundred came in the final session of Day 2, and it was a calm and composed innings. None of the other New Zealand batters managed to score big, but Williamson’s century put his team close to victory.

This was his third hundred in the last four innings, showcasing his excellent form. He started the series with twin hundreds in the first Test, making him only the fifth New Zealand player to achieve this feat.
