Nothing Phone (2a): Affordable and Feature-packed Smartphone Set to Wow Indian Markets

  • Nothing Phone (2a) launching on March 5th in India and globally, promising affordability and quality.
  • Features MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, competitive pricing around ₹30,000, and impressive camera setup.
  • Made in India with focus on Indian market, expected to rival popular mid-range smartphones.

Nothing Phone (2a) is gearing up to hit the smartphone market in India and around the world on March 5th. And guess what? It’s going to be the most affordable smartphone from the UK-based company yet! Carl Pei, the founder, even hinted that the upcoming Phone 2a might be even cheaper than the first Nothing Phone.

An interesting Fact is that Carl Pei has changed his name on X (formerly Twitter) to “Carl Bhai,” showing how much they care about the Indian market. Plus, he’s confirmed that the new mid-range smartphone will be ‘Made in India.’

Before its big debut on March 5th, there’s been a lot of buzz about the Phone 2a’s design, price, processor, and camera.

Let’s talk about the price and specs:

According to a tweet by tipster Yogesh Brar on X, the Nothing Phone (2a) will likely run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, the same one you find in the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. And here’s the kicker: it’s rumored to be priced at around €349 (that’s about ₹30,000) for the 8GB RAM/128GB variant and €399 (approximately ₹35,000) for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage version.

Now, if that ₹30,000 price tag holds up, the Phone (2a) could be going head-to-head with popular phones like the Redmi Note Pro+ and the Realme 12 Pro+.

Now, let’s dive into the other features:

The Phone (2a) is expected to sport a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a super smooth 120Hz refresh rate. When it comes to cameras, you’re looking at a dual rear setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. And for all your selfie needs, there’s likely to be a 32MP front camera.

The Phone (2a) might run on Nothing’s very own Nothing OS 2.5, based on the latest Android 14. And when your battery’s running low, fear not! It’s expected to support up to 45W fast charging. But, we’re not sure if the 45W charger will come in the box.
