PM Modi Praises Upcoming Movie ‘Article 370’ for Informative Value!

  • Prime Minister Modi commends an upcoming movie about Article 370 during a rally in Jammu.
  • The film, titled “Article 370,” aims to provide accurate insights into the topic.
  • Supreme Court upholds government’s decision on Article 370, declaring Jammu & Kashmir’s integration with India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke at a big gathering in Jammu on February 20. He mentioned an upcoming movie about Article 370 and said it could help people understand the topic better.

The Prime Minister was addressing the crowd at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, and he seemed excited about the movie. He said, “I’ve heard there’s a film coming out about Article 370. Your cheers will echo across the country.”

This wasn’t Modi’s first visit to Jammu since Article 370 was revoked in 2019. He seemed to coincide his visit with the release of the movie, which was set to hit screens soon.

Even though he admitted not knowing much about the film, he praised the idea, saying it could provide accurate information to people.

Yami Gautam, one of the actors in the film, also expressed her gratitude towards Modi for mentioning the movie. She posted a video of his speech on Instagram, saying, “It is an absolute honor to watch PM @narendramodi Ji talk about #Article370Movie. My team and I hope that we all exceed your expectations in bringing this incredible story to the screen!”

The film, titled “Article 370,” is produced by Aditya Dhar, who’s famous for directing “Uri: The Surgical Strike.” Gautam plays the role of an intelligence agent in the movie, which revolves around combating terrorism in Kashmir after Article 370 is scrapped.

The central government revoked Article 370 on August 5, 2019, giving Jammu and Kashmir special status. The movie is set to release on February 23 and is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

The cast includes Yami Gautam, Priyamani, and Arun Govil. Its release timing just before the parliamentary elections has heightened public interest in the portrayal of the Article 370 revocation.

The Supreme Court recently upheld the central government’s decision to abrogate Article 370. The court declared that Jammu & Kashmir doesn’t have internal sovereignty different from other states.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices Gavai and Surya Kant, wrote the judgment, stating, “All provisions of the Indian Constitution can be applied to J-K… We hold the exercise of presidential power to issue constitutional order repealing Article 370 of the Constitution as valid.” The apex court also supported the government’s decision to create the union territory of Ladakh from the former state of Jammu & Kashmir.
