Rashmika Mandanna is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after heroines in the Indian film industry, earning praise for her performances in a string of successful movies.
Following the nationwide success of “Pushpa,” Rashmika has been inundated with offers from Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema.
Last year, she dazzled audiences with another blockbuster, “Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which starred Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor alongside veterans Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, as well as Rashmika herself and Tripti Dimri in pivotal roles.
“Animal” swiftly crossed the 900 crore rupees mark globally, making waves at the box office.
However, despite the overwhelming success of “Animal,” Rashmika faced some criticism, particularly regarding her portrayal of a scene during Karwachout.
Some viewers felt she hadn’t delivered the dialogue convincingly in that particular moment. Addressing these critiques, Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia recently spoke out against online trolls, particularly those targeting women’s body shapes and performances in films.
“I detest the online trolls who attack women based on their body shape or performance. I’ve faced such trolls myself, especially regarding my films and performances. I know the effort I put into my work.
Take, for instance, the 9-minute-long Karwachout scene in ‘Animal.’ The entire crew applauded after I completed that scene, which was hailed as a highlight of the film. It required portraying a multitude of emotions within that one sequence.
Even after the film’s release, the response in theaters was overwhelmingly positive. Yet, a few individuals chose to focus on a mere 10 seconds of dialogue, criticizing it. But I refuse to let them affect me.
Not everyone will appreciate your work, and that’s okay. What matters is staying true to yourself,” Neha expressed.
In “Animal,” Rashmika essayed the role of Geetanjali, drawing praise from both audiences and critics alike for her portrayal.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also commended her performance, acknowledging the challenges she faced, particularly in the demanding Karvachauth scene.
“Playing Geetanjali wasn’t an easy feat,” Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared in a recent interview. “The Karvachauth scene required a range of emotions—from laughter to screams to portraying a sense of madness. Rashmika tackled it with aplomb, showcasing her versatility as an actor.”
Currently, Rashmika is juggling multiple projects, including “Pushpa 2,” “Rainbow,” and “Girl Friend,” highlighting her busy schedule and rising prominence in the industry.
Today marks Rashmika’s birthday, celebrating not only her talent but also her journey as one of Indian cinema’s rising stars.
